Sew and So with Kickstart at 11a.m on Saturday December 8th, 2018

Our regular informal stitching meeting, Sew and So, is open to all members.  Lorraine Ellison will be bringing many lovely examples of fossils, rocks and minerals for us ti draw and photograph.. This may help Kickstart participants to be inspired, and Lorraine will give information about them all. The fossils range from about 1000 years old to an amazing 450 million years old, and they include a mammoth's tooth from Norfolk during the Ice age, shark's teeth from London, ammonites from the south of England, corals from the Peak District, fossil ferns from a Somerset coal tip, various  marine animal shells, including some from Wymeswold, and much more. Among the rocks are an amazing, crystalline slice of a meteorite from outer space, and a royal blue rock from Afghanistan.  She also has beautiful mineral crystals too. Lorraine collected many for her Geology degree, spending much time, eyes down to the ground, wandering across fields, along sea shores and into quarries.

Of course you are welcome to bring your own work, if you are not doing Kickstart this year.

Do come, bring your lunch and stay for the afternoon meeting where we will be doing some Christmas stitching and crafts.
