Autumn Workshops at Bradmore Methodist Church Hall, Friday 11th September 2015 Sheena Norquay – Ridged Winter Landscapes (handstitching) https://sites.google.com/site/sheenajnorquay Create
a small A5 or A4 winter landscape using running, whipped, and
single/double whipped/laced running stitches. You will be shown how to
draw contour and radiating lines on the pattern provided and how to use
the stitches to create ridges and outlines on your landscape. The border
can be quilted using a basketweave pattern or you can add a patterned
fabric. For the sky and loch you can use transparent fabrics. Friday 13th November 2015 Gillian Travis – Townscapes (max. 12 people) On this workshop you will be able to create a wall hanging or panel of your own house or a townscape from a photograph of your choice. This could even be a holiday snap of some significant place. The resulting textile piece would then be a pleasing reminder of good times. This workshop includes some innovative design and technical skills also some contemporary approaches to appliqué, print and machine embroidery along with some useful shortcuts which will be transferable to other projects. I will be able to provide much of the specialist equipment used eg suitable printing blocks and fabric colouring equipment. The cost for each workshop will be £35 (£40 for non members). to book a place contact Kath Owen: owenkath3@gmail.com 01509 852974 |
